After 9 months of being knocked back by various services I have an appt with a psychiatrist. I got the letter on Saturday but I didn't believe it until I phoned to confirm this morning.

I still have zero confidence that this will actually go anywhere other than the standard "Sorry you don't fit our service criteria".

Still a breakthrough that I had despaired of ever achieving though.

friday 24th oct.

Nearly went to A&E today because I was so sacred. I was at work not in my home town and didn't fancy all the hassle plus I've got a Gp appt later today so I decided to wait for that.

That's the thing about depression. Good news for us is like Christmas to a 5 year old.....

I sincerely hope that things go well for you. I'll be sending good thoughts across the pond.
Thanks for this!

That is very good news after all you experience with NHS. I hope they can help.

I also registered with a charity who provide subsidized therapy. I have just asked for support and guidance through the different types of help out there. I'm not sure what my long term motivation will be like, but this is a start and if I decide I don't want to go any further with therapy at least it will be an informed decision.
