Hello everyone,

Thought I'd share this 2014 study

From the abstract it states that: "Group walks in nature were associated with significantly lower depression, perceived stress, and negative affect, as well as enhanced positive affect and mental well-being, both before and after controlling for covariates."

A lot of you may already know that exercise is good for you, and some of you may have even tried it. I can't imagine what you're going through, and I don't know if group walks will help you specifically. But if you haven't ever tried it consistently then it could be a useful tool to add to help you keep fighting.

If for some reason you can't find a group to walk with, there are also anti-depressant effects from simply walking outside amongst nature on your own, for a few minutes, according to this other study. The study states that those who feel the worst are the ones to benefit the most from outside walks.

So maybe walking for a few minutes outside, everyday, might help in giving you a little boost in mood.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for sharing! I know exercising and even just getting out of the house helps me to feel better

The last few months I have been taking my dogs for walks through fields and woodlands. I totally benefit from this mentally and have been thinking about group walks in the forest which is carried out 10 minutes from where I live. I certainly recommend walking, especially in areas like fields and woodlands, to everyone!
