has anyone had any improvement with fish oils? ive been taking them for 12 months took from1g to 2g but not felt any real benefits anyone any experiences ? i know they can be be useful for bipolar but what about unipolar ,i saw a thread somewhere saying they were ineffective another saying they were , which is right?

Whether they can treat mood disorders or not is not clear, but there is alot of evidence that they acan prevent them, and likely slow progression. Go to www.nordicnaturals.com, and look in their research site for all the mainstream research on Omega-3 fatty acids.

omega made me feel anxious. i checked around on other forums and found several people who reported the same thing. so, keep that in mind.

I do wonderfully well when I get these oils from the foods and not as supplements. I think that so many of them, for shelf life of any length, have to alter the ingredients. But cold water salmon, tuna in water even(in can)... etc sure do help me.

I've heard some very positive things about omega 3. I've decided to try them. They are pure and safe so why not, I take pills that are much more harmful.

My doc explained to me that some companies bottle their omega's in veggie capsules. The prob with that is that the oil turns rancid pretty fast, so you don't get the benefits of the oils. Rather, try omegas that are bottled in gelatin capsules, and buy those that are tested for purity, safety and bioavailability. Make sure that what you buy is what actually gets into your body.
I get mine from a very reputable company, my doc recommended them: www.shaklee.net/togoodhealth/memMain I buy the 'GLA complex'' and I take 2 capsules twice a day. (In addition to my other supplements) The nice thing about this company is that if I'm ever unhappy with a product they refund my money without a fuss. |
