So I'm changing medications, and I don't know what to expect. How will this drug effect me differently? I'm excited, as I stopped taking my medication (Prozac) about a month and a half ago and I've been really, really depressed.

I took both those drugs. Neither one did a darn thing for me, either bad or good. After each one, I ended going back on amitriptyline, which I still take. It is not a cure, but reduces depression and helps me sleep.

Hi
I had a good experience with Prozac in 2008/9 but I started again last month and it is not being as effective as before

Effexor has been my buddy for about ten years now. I honestly can't say if it's even working now, but the withdrawals are so horrific that I'm staying on it for good!

Effexor was one of the most effective ones for me. I do better on the SSNRI's.
