I've been struggling with depression for a few years and these awful thoughts have been becoming more frequent. I'm scared of what I might do to myself and I need to talk to someone.

Hello & Welcome, G_ashby. The US National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-8255. Also see the PsychCentral Suicide Helpline page.

Have you spoken with a medical professional about your depressed feelings?

Please make yourself at home here.

Hi G ashby, welcome to PC and thank you for sharing how you're feeling with us
It is really good that you're recognising that you need help/support, and you're reaching out for it.
Now excellent advise from Rohag up there, and we're here for you in this. Things can get better with support. The most important thing is to talk about what's going on for you.

Hi G Ashby and welcome to pc. I have experienced very similar feelings as what you are describing. I am glad you are here. You may PM me anytime. Seeking professional medical or psychiatric help would be a good idea. Best of wishes to you.
