I know getting sad is obviously part of it but sometimes I get angry as well. Just wondering if mood swings are a part of Depression

Some people say depression is anger turned inward too. Sometimes it's about loss. The causes vary widely.

Sad can be part of it but often feeling sad has nothing to do with it. Very often. When I am depressed I never feel sad, I feel numb. I might seem sad but that is because my mental functions have slowed down so much. Inside I don't feel sad.

For many people anger and irritability can be part of it and mood swings. It depends on your total symptoms, severity, length of time, etc.

Hi Pwwing, yes depression isn't a "one size fits all" kind of thing. And maybe you're feeling down or maybe you're depressed- check out the symptoms link- but ether way it matters so do you want to talk a bit more about it/what's going on for you right now??
Any triggers, any reasons?? Not that there always has to be but...........or if you just want to talk a bit more about how you're feeling/the effects on you............whatever...........
