Does anyone else in a depression now find that they start to get really tired when it gets dark at the end of the day? My days are really not that busy yet I find myself getting really tired long about 6 or 7. I just run out of steam. I wonder if the fact that I have a lot of anxiety with this depressive episode has anything to do with it? I'm constantly planning and thinking and doing a fair amount of worrying all day long, which I don't do when I'm not depressed.
Any thoughts? |

Hi there, My depressive mood disorder leaves me feeling tired all day, can never sleep at night due to nightmares of the past. During the day I feel exhausted and when I do sleep, I still feel tired. I find anxiety and depression bounce of each other with me. Both leave me feeling irritable.

By the way, this early evening fatigue is making me dread Christmas Eve. My husband and I go to his sister's house early afternoon. His family usually hangs in there until at least 10 p.m. I really think I better take my own car and say I don't feel well or something. I don't remember the last time I was up at 10 p.m. God, this disease is so frustrating sometimes.
![]() There's also my husband's work holiday party in early January, which starts at 5:30 p.m. and is about 45 minutes away. That'll be another challenge. I'm just going to have to fight through the tiredness I guess. Then there's my book club, which starts at 6:30 p.m. I went to my first meeting a couple weeks ago and made it until 8. I would like to be able to stay until everyone else does but my body won't let me. Again, just really frustrating!!! |
