I'm suffering from depression. If anyone gives me an expensive gift or ifI buy myself a nice gift,I feel very sad.May be I think,i don't desrve it. Also anything in excess around me,kind of makes me sad.So I donate a lot of stuff just to keep the right amount of stuff. Does anyone else feel like this?? I think it is very strange because people always want more stuff. Buying stuff takes a long time for me and if I buy anything unwanted, makes me stressed. Is it depression related???

Self worth related maybe.

It could be depression related or it could be that you are just not into stuff. I have friends who prefer not to own too much because they like the idea of being mobile or don't want clutter.

Maybe it is a self-worth thing or maybe you just don't need or want a lot of stuff. I had extra time off from work during the holidays and I felt a little guilty for being lazy, relaxing, going for nature hikes, and just enjoying myself. I know that makes no sense either.

I feel like that even when someone remembers about something stupid about me. Once my pdoc told me about this page of a book which reminded her of me and told me she would bring me the page. I immediately thought she would have forgotten but when I saw her again, she gave me this sheet of paper with that stuff on it. I burst out crying because I didn't deserve that, because you know, I'm just me and why should anyone bother.
