So I'm supposed to be graduating in May. However, I have courses that I'm taking that, of course, need to be paid for. Lots very rare that I ask my mother for anything. I grew up with a huge sense of autonomy and I've been independent for as long as I can remember. Since attending college, I worked full time as a supervisor to earn my own money & support myself, all while going to school full time. It wasn't until this past semester that I asked for my mother's help to cosign on a loan. I'm only 22 and i don't have a lot of revolving credit. Plus I just got my first credit card about 2 months ago. So my credit score is in the building stages. Hence, the need for my mother to cosign on a private student loan just to finance this last semester. Please keep in mind that I will be paying off the loan NOT my mother. I asked her & she said no flat out, saying she's going to need a loan soon so having my student loan on her credit right now will lower her chances of receiving it. This is all ********, as my mom makes almost 70k a year and A1 credit. She always talks a big game about supporting my endeavors but something as small as this makes me wonder if that's even genuine. I only have a few credits standing in the way of obtaining a degree that I worked SO hard for & this is about to be snatched away. I just don't Know what to do, how to handle it, or if this'll trigger an episode(what I fear most). This is just so fuxed up! Can anyone relate to any parent issues of this sort or of any kind at all?

What about crowd funding?
What other relatives could you approach? Have you talked to the university finance office to see if you could do work study or even work out a payment plan. Tell them your situation that you are close to graduating. They want more graduates, so give them a chance. Maybe it is time to not depend on your mother. Find some other way? Maybe that is what this is trying to tell me.

Hmmm...? What isn't she telling you?
I agree with CANDC. Find another way to finance your studies - that may be less stressful for you in the long run. I had different parent issues.

I didn't even mention that I had my own place & she begged me to come back to live with her so I could focus on school, solely. I did it and then this happens. Tbh, I don't know any relatives that have as good a credit score that would actually do it. As far as my school, I'll try but their going to have to get their money some way or I won't be graduating. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm open to hear about any parent issues you may want to vent about.
