I am feeling depressed at this moment. When I am in this dark mood; I withdraw and want to be alone. The feelings of worthlessness is overwhelming! I am on medication and see a therapist - it doe not seem to help. Does anyone relate?

Sorry you are feeling that way...and yes I can relate.
Those intrusive thoughts can make you feel that way. I try to remember that they are only thoughts and not who I am.

Whenever I'm feeling that way, I TRY to remind myself that I'm wearing my "*****-coloured glasses." It doesn't make me feel a whole lot better, but sometimes it helps me to put it into a bit of perspective. I try to tell myself that everything DOESN'T suck; I'm depressed and that's why everything SEEMS horrible. I try to remind myself that my perception is skewed by my depression. It's not permanent and I try to remember how it feels to NOT be wearing those *****-coloured glasses. Every time I have gotten depressed, I have eventually reached the light at the end of the tunnel and things have gotten better. It is so damn painful when we're in that dark hole, but I hope you can remember that there is a light there. I hope you reach that light soon.
I have one of my favourite quotes stuck to my fridge to remind me of that light. It's by Leonard Cohen. "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." Even in my darkest times, I am reminded of -- and searching for -- that crack of light. It's good that you posted. You made a step out of your isolation. That's hard to do, but it's a good, hopeful thing. I withdraw when I'm depressed too, but I'm learning to make efforts (when I can) to reach out to understanding people (like my family and friends) once in a while. It really does help a bit.

I can relate big time. Remember that you are better than your thoughts, it is hard, but be positive.
