Has anyone been prescribed Sarafem? I was told today its a lower dosage of Prozac, and its easier to be weaned off..Thinking about it, but the side effects seem just as terrible as my current mood swings. Better yet anyone find evening primrose oil effective?

Hello HeavyFeather. Just wanted you to know I read your post. I hope someone here can advise you on the effectiveness of Sarafem and Primrose oil. Have you checked in this forum?

Hi HeavyFeather

I have no personal experience of fluoxetine but what I do know from personal experience is that matching the "right" anti-depressant to the "right" person is often a matter of trial and error - the first one that I was on was, for me, useless but what I am on now is, for me, great.

It sounds like fluoxetine is not helping you.

Going back to your prescribing doctor to discuss the option of trying another anti-depressant with a different pharmacology is a good plan.
