I started Wellbutrin this morning. I noticed I have more energy. I needed it.
Has anyone have experience with this medicine? My sister-in-law said it was good.

I just started on Wellbutrin too and it's been helpful as well. I also noticed a big change in lower appetite which is good for me but maybe too much because I've eaten at most one meal a day for the past week.

My experience is wellbutrin does help, and quickly. It will give you lots of energy. I have been on wellbutrin for a few months. However, it seems to not be helping as well as of lately. I am beginning to think some or most of my depression is related to my job.

I'm glad I have no appetite either because I gained so much weight from other medication. I used to be 117lbs. Right now I weigh 164lbs. I hope Wellbutrin will help me lose weight from all the other medicine I used to take.

Waterknob, I can see how a job can cause a lot of depression. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

I feel it helps also. I wish it would help me lose weight, it does for most people, but I have been on it for months and haven't lost an ounce. Just don't do what I did for the first couple of days and take it several hours before going to bed or you will end up counting the cracks on your ceiling all night.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin for close to 10 years...300 Milligrams....once in the morning..It did well to keep my depression in check...although nothing for anxiety an panic attacks...my P switched my over to Remeron....as the Wellburtrin gradually lost its effectiveness..I saw no weight gain nor loss...so I hope it works for you....best of luck...Artie

I'm on Wellbutrin now and have been for about 4 months; I've really enjoyed it…. It helped cut down some of my anger issues and ultimately made me stop smoking cigarettes and I was able to lose 15lbs.
It's been a really successful run for me!

Well then that makes sense. I am on 350mg. While it takes a teeny bit of the edge off, I don't think it is doing everything it can. I know meds are not a cure-all, but I am going through more stuff than usual lately and having a much tougher time getting myself to "snap out of it". Guess it is time to call my doctor.

When does Wellbutrin really start taking effect? The pharmacist told me three days to a week...
I mean I already feel a difference. I haven't been sleeping until 12. I wake up at 10 now. I'm starting to want to go places. It's only the second day.

I think it depends on the person and their metabolism and sensitivity. For me, it only took a few days to start feeling the effect. I became more social and not as anxious around people. I also felt like I wanted to go out and do stuff and not lay in bed all day in the dark. My big thing was feeling very self conscious in crowded places like malls and stores. It has really helped with my social anxiety. Unlike other antidepressants, if I forget a dose, I really feel the difference. I try to remain very good about taking it consistently because of this. I seem to be struggling more lately, but it is definitely situational and has nothing to do with the medicine not working.

Before I would stay in bed all day and sleep. I had no interest in going out places. I would get upset when people would come over. My boyfriend's mom and sister came over one day, and I started crying. The same night after they left, I started crying again because I missed my parents. My life, especially after my dad passed, got more depressing. I thought the worse about everything. I was dx in the hospital for bipolar disorder. I found out Tuesday from my new psychriatrist that I'm not bipolar. I knew I wasn't. He told me that I do have problems, especially with depression, because of my childhood. He said that he would be more concerned if I was normal going through what I went through. With Wellbutrin, I'm slowly becoming more active and happy. I can't wait to see the full results. Sorry for this long post, I'm just excited.

this is an excellent medication...i started taking it in order to help with my nicotine cravings when i quit smoking...

i am bipolar 2 and antidepressants are not really indicated, supposedly can do more harm than good....that was not my experience...it took the edge off, really did help so i could stand myself while i was going through the worst of my cig withdrawl and i never had any bad side effects at all...nothing...

wasn't like 'oh i am suddenly cured lalala'...but i was more leveled out in general...very nice easy comfortable med

I was prescribed Lorazapam...1MG....as needed...I neglected to tell you that the Wellbutrin was the XL...I believe it to be the gradual release version....It did wonders for the times...but gradually I felt something new was needed....It didn't cause me panic attacks....as I suffered from them before using Wellbutrin....best wishes...Artie

I've been on Wellbutrin since the summer of last year and it's helped me a great deal. It definitely helps me cope with things much better and gives me the energy I need. I hope it continues to work for you.

I have been on Wellbutrin along with other medication for the last 3 weeks. I guess for me it started its impact after 2 weeks. My depression symptoms reduced remarkably. I started engaging in social activities again which is something i haven't done in months. So hope your brain responds positively to it!

I was just put on Wellbutrin after being on Lexapro for years -- this is my third day. I'm starting at 100mg and see how that goes for me. I'm rather optimistic about it because I've heard great things.

And I really need it because I've barely left the house in two months
Best wishes to you!

Wellbutrin works wonders for my depression. Never noticed any increased energy or decrease in appetite, but I am also a binge eater.

I was on this a few years ago, my regular doctor prescribed it.

All I can say, it was heaven! I was focused, had energy, I felt like Superman, to my normal Clark Kent. The only bad side effect, was as a male, a certain part was, let's say super sensitive during a certain act.
