I lost my mind yesterday because of someone being critical of me, this in turn lead to me trying to take my own life. I'm glad though I didn't succeed and I can try to recover from all this.

Is anyone else unable to deal with criticism? I used to be able to but not now in my current state that I have been in for about 2 or more years.

Criticism is something that i have trouble dealing with because I tend to think everything is all black or all white, therefore, if I'm criticized I must be all bad. Of course, this leaves me feeling bad. Fortunately, my counselor helps me sort through it so I can see I don't have to be perfect to be okay.

I'm really glad you didn't succeed, too. Hang in there.

Criticism is tough on me too. Mostly because whatever anyone is mentioning that is critical is usually something that I've already beat myself up over.

I hope you are feeling better

I have become generally stress-intolerant, and I'm now socially isolated. On those rare occasions I'm exposed to external, real-world criticism, if the criticism can cut through my apathy it can put me in a dangerous place.

I'm quite sensitive when it comes to criticism, but I'm learning to appreciate constructive criticism. The kind of criticism that helps me understand my flaws, so I can improve. When I work with other people, and they depend on me, I should always be open to suggestions and even criticism.

but if you're being unfairly criticized, i think it's best to ignore it, let it bounce off you, don't give it much thought. I know it's very hard, but for me, accepting that I can't please everyone has helped.
