No. I have a personality disorder, not a brain chemical imbalance, so nothing works. I've tried them all. It's like drinking water. The only way I even know I've taken meds is I get withdrawal symptoms when I stop.

Yes, I do. I don't do well without them. My depression gets too bad.

Hi
I used to take Paxil but it stopped working. it was causing terrible side-effects(seizures). now i take Amitriptyline. though it doesn't give me the boost like Paxil did, it gets me through the day...

I take the anticonvulsant Depakote as a mood stabilizer and Valium for anxiety. I took the SNRI antidepressant Duloxetine for a while but stopped when I realized that I had been too depressed for too long for it to have been doing me any good. The commercially-available

Yes, effexor, abilify, wellbutrin, seroquel, klonopin, and bi-weekly ECT. The meds just weren't doing it as well, but the ECT is a Godsend. I can still work full-time.
