No. I have a personality disorder, not a brain chemical imbalance, so nothing works. I've tried them all. It's like drinking water. The only way I even know I've taken meds is I get withdrawal symptoms when I stop.

Yes, I do. I don't do well without them. My depression gets too bad.

Best wishes, Gayle

I take the anticonvulsant Depakote as a mood stabilizer and Valium for anxiety. I took the SNRI antidepressant Duloxetine for a while but stopped when I realized that I had been too depressed for too long for it to have been doing me any good. The commercially-available

GeneSight Psychotropic is a genetic panel that provides information about genes that may affect a patient’s response to antidepressant and antipsychotic pharmacotherapy. According to the manufacturer’s website, following testing, the treating provider receives a report with the most common medications for the patient’s diagnosed condition categorized by cautionary level, along with a report of the patient’s genetic variants. Details are not provided about the algorithm used by the manufacturer to generate risk levels.

Yes, effexor, abilify, wellbutrin, seroquel, klonopin, and bi-weekly ECT. The meds just weren't doing it as well, but the ECT is a Godsend. I can still work full-time.
