I've had psychomotor retardation at certain points, yes. And it seems to correlate with a mood state for me too. I would imagine yes there would be meds that make this worse so 'I'm sorry that you had to endure that. I'm not sure if it's a common symptom of depression or not, but I'm sure you and I can't be the only two, so it's interesting to see what other members here say. I don't know if it's something worse I'm really not sure. I'm on different meds for different dx, one of which means I suffer from depression from time to time and that's when I notice these symptoms. Because of that I'm not sure which med exactly that I'm on eases the symptoms.
I hope that you find the answers to your question soon InfiniteSadness |

I, too, can relate when I'm depressed. It makes everything harder : concentration, focusing, even just being able to follow a simple conversation.
It's been about nine months since I suffered from depression bad enough to cause these problems but even in a mixed state I have some trouble with it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yes my tbinking is definitely impaired when depressed. Hard to describe, but mathematics and logical thinking for example are very hard to carry out. I seem to hit a brick wall.
Never heard of psuchomonitor retardation before, but my thinkkng is definitely slower, a more accurate way of describing it though is 'drawing blanks' or as i said 'hitting a brick wall'. In terms of my movement, not so much. I dont think i am that slower, but with reactions i am definitely worse. Hope that helps :-) Sent from my GT-I8200N using Tapatalk |

I get like this, particularly when my depression is worse. It is a well recorded symptom of depression. I'm not sure what function it serves, but I feel sometimes I feel that it can help slow me down when everything is completely overwhelming and protect me from the pain I can't handle. Often at the same time I shut down so I can't feel myself or anything much. I may be disoriented and unable to process information or sensations. It's horrible, but, I think, maybe not as unmanageable as how I would otherwise feel. Does this make sense?

I have also had this symptom with depression. I have trouble getting simple stuff done and sometimes trouble comprehending things and focusing.

When the depression is severe I get psychomotor retardation. Every part of me slows down and there is massive fatigue. I have had it many times.
