Why canīt we just be honest and open? If someone has diabetes or another illness they can openly talk about it to family, friends, even strangers. I canīt imagine ever saying "Oh, you know, depression playing up again but Iīll be alright in a bit" to anyone in the street who asked me "How are you?".
Itīs not fair we have to hide our condition due to the rest of the worlds ignorance. Anyone else agree? |

Absolutely! As if the disorder itself isn't hellish enough, we have to face stigma, too. I do have hope that stigmatizing mental illness is slowly, but surely, changing.

I agree one hundred percent. The stigma makes things worse than it should be.
