Anyone else have any advice for cleaning the house?
I could put this under OCD since part of the problem is my hoarding. Also, I have never actually fit any dx... Regardless... I used to be okay at keeping things clean since I had other people around. Now the only person I have to keep clean for is myself... I invite people over sometimes as motivation but then I still don't bother and end up just telling them not to come. If I owned the house I think I wouldn't even care enough to post this... but I do not own it and therefore often feel guilty as I am sure I have caused some damage in places as the house is old and mostly wood. So as soon as I even start thinking about it I feel guilty and gross and avoid it... It also occurs to me how unhygienic it can be. The hoarding is a bit of a separate but related issue. And I am always paranoid that someone is going to show up and see into a window... |

I live by myself in a two-bedroom condo unit. I clean every Saturday morning. Sometimes I wonder why I do it. No one ever comes over. But for some strange reason, I seem to love doing it. In fact, I feel hooked on doing it every Saturday morning. I would have my music on while doing it and that helps a whole lot. Maybe if I didn't have the music, I might not be too enthusiastic about cleaning.
What's really weird is that, after it's over, I feel let down and depressed. |
