Have you ever wondered if your depression will ever end? You could be suffering from Persistent Depressive Disorder.

Quote:
Persistent Depressive Disorder, formerly known as Dysthymic Disorder (also known as dysthymia), has been recently renamed in the updated DSM-5 (2013)....

Individuals with persistent depressive disorder describe their mood as sad or “down in the dumps.”

During the 2-year period (1 year for children or adolescents), any symptom-free intervals last no longer than 2 months.
This subject can reveal more about the severity of depression and may reveal how fortunate we are if our depression is not this severe anymore.

Have you ever experienced: "Poor appetite or overeating, Insomnia or hypersomnia, Low energy or fatigue, Low self-esteem, Poor concentration or difficulty making decisions, Feelings of hopelessness"

At Depression Support Chat this week we will explore how our own challenges still fit in with this diagnosis, and how they differ. Drop by Thursday night at 9PM EST and share an hour with people that appreciate you and lend their support.

krminnj will be away and CANDC will be subbing for this week.
