This is my second post and it feels really weird to say how you feel and not be judged by people. With my family, friends you have to watch what you say because they do not understand what the depression or cutting is doing to me. There is no one around that I can talk to except the therapist I see twice a week. I have given my therapist til the end of Sept., and if I do not feel any better I am leaving this area to go and try to find something or somewhere to start anew.

I actually meant that I am moving to Tenn. at the last of this month. There is too much memories in this area that I just need to begin somewhere else.
Possible trigger:
So the depression is not better right now but starting over in Tenn. makes me feel like I have a chance at a new start.

hi Kat
you may not know, but there is a forum here at psych Central under self injury which you might find helpful. Perhaps contacting your therapist to say that you are in urgent need of help would bring you a quick response?
There is Nami the organization for the mentally ill and googling them will put you in contact and in many areas they do run peer to peer support groups to give you people to talk to. Inquiring whether there are any depression support groups in your area, might throw up something. The public library me know and your doctor also. You are right loved ones don't realize what depression is like not having ever experienced it. Although things can be downloaded from the Internet on how to support someone with depression. I hope and pray everything will get better for you. Take care. Have a really great day. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis

HiTauen

I do think it is best to tell the therapist everything as the more information they have the better they are able to help. There is no risk involved as they are supposed to be nonjudgmental and cannot act against us unless we say we are going to harm ourselves, or other people. How is everything with you? I hope and pray your day will be really good. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis
