Walking back to my apartment I heard a song I had not in years, Beast of Burden by the Rolling Stones

I found myself walking to the beat, singing aloud

When I got to my apartment I felt better, almost elated. I think my current low has ended or, at the very least lifted a bit

Then I heard Everybody Hurts by REM

This is a song that sounds depressing but it very uplifting

Then Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. And I danced.

Yes, I am an almost 50 year old man, renting a room, unemployed, no luck, no love but I danced

I feel ... well... like dancing

Hi John

I'm glad the hearing those songs made you feel good and want to dance. People have found that singing along, or humming with their favorite music is a great mood lifter. How are therapy and medication working for you? I hope and pray you will get a job soon. Sometimes volunteering even at Goodwill can lead to paid employment eventually. And there is vocational rehab. Just a thought. Have a really great day. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis
