Its been hard as it is dealing the passing of my mom this year but the Holidays are making it a bit harder . I was doing pretty good till my sister who I don't get along with has been yelling at me over small things. She's told lies about me and my dad to other family and I'm sure they believe it. I don't feel welcome around them anymore. I'm doing ok with that just need a kind word here and there . Thanks for listing

Hi KEB1990,
It's very good you realize you have been dealing well with everything. Keep that in mind, you have had a hard year with the passing of your mom, my sympathies.

I know family can be some of the hardest to deal with. My own sister is coming for a visit soon, and I've learned to let go of the things she tries to dig up or jab about. She is great at interfering in my life. I think it's best to just keep perspective of the bigger picture. How you interact with her, regardless of her behaviour. We can't change others, we can only change how we react to a situation. The way to leave a situation so that you feel the best you can, is to keep in mind how well you handle it. Don't give in to the urge to be unkind if you have it. Just come up with something you can say back that isn't hurtful but will make you feel empowered. I hope this helps some. Holiday time is difficult for everyone, especially with depression. Best wishes to you.

my sister-in-law did the same to me when my Father-in-law died. You're still a good person, and yes, you're right, you're doing well.
