I am recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and am off work on disability benefits. I'm also recently separated from my wife and kids. I don't know how much more I can carry

Hello Hoytfreak: I see you're still pretty new to PsychCentral. So... welcome! I'm sorry you are carrying such a heavy burden. I send warm thoughts your way with the hope that you will be able to find deep peace in your life... Hopefully being here on PC can help.

My original depression many years ago was partially triggered by a loss of health, including arthritis which greatly compromised my quality of life and prevented me from taking part in activities that I had previously enjoyed. I've regained part of that and found ways to adjust and cope.

Hoping you can find some way to relieve your burden. I agree it is a lot to carry. Help is available shifting the load, hope we here can help. If you are suffering depression because of this, understand that that is a separate load in and of itself and help is available for that too. Good luck to you.

I am seeing a therapist and taking antidepressants to try to get the depression under control.

That is a good plan Hoytfreak. Good luck and you can also rely on support from people here who understand.
