I've just been diagnosed as codependent as well as a binge alcoholic. I've been reading the book" Co dependent no more" Good book, very thought provoking. now I need to figure what to do with all of the thoughts and feelings as I read. I find myself torn between relief that there is a name for my problems, and further guilt for what/who I have become.

Hi guiltier. Have you considered any 12 steps programs that offer support and encouragement and the possibility of someone talking you out of binge drinking? AA is one of the most well-known.

Thanks, I am supposed to start a 12 step program in late January. I am really excited and anxious to get started.

I think you will find it to be very enriching and helpful. Good luck to you.

And Codependent No More is a great book. I liked the daily reflections version to be very helpful.
