I've been having trouble staying awake and motivated to get schoolwork done for a very long time. And the only way I can get anything done is if I go to the library cause there are super bright lights and a productive feel to it. I get on average like 7 hours of sleep a night, 9 on weekends. I've spoken to my parents and Doctor about depression but they don't believe me (despite the fact they knew about me self-harming) and my mom prevents me from getting help. I'm moody and irratable and a lot of it is due to my exaughstion. I drink like 2 litres of water at school but still feel the same. The only thing my doctor suggested today was to do some blood tests, but they always come back the same. I need to get my schoolwork done cause I'm in the IB and I'm not allowed to drop it despite my mental problems. I just need Adderall at least. What should I do? I'm 16 so I can't get a new doctor on my own. My guidance counselors are not private they'll just call my parents and then I'll get beaten for "ruining te family reputation".

Welcome to PC
I am so sorry you are in the position of unsupportive parents and not old enough to do it on your own. Maybe we can be of some help here. I would swear your doctor to confidentiality to only him and you. And then tell him what's really going on. Self harm is serious. This is from British Columbia but I believe it is part of the Canadian Human rights and teen rights that is the whole country. Quote:

How about caffeine tablets. They're sold at drug store. I used to keep some in my glove box in the car. In case of a long trip.
