Due to Neurological Hypersensitivity I cannot bear anyone touching me, even my Grandchildren. My pain levels from contact are a burning, searing 7-8.
Internet Hugs were new to me when I came here, not even our Sister Site, NeuroTalk, uses them. I appreciate the sentiment behind receiving them greatly, I 'Hug' when I feel the OP would benefit from a hug IRL, or when I am too touched emotionally, or too visually impaired, to write a meaningful response. So, in response to your original question 1:1. Dave.

There is no equivalent. There is nothing to replace a real life meaningful hug. That's just how I feel.
