I woke up last night in terror, afraid that if I prayed, the above-listed person would killed me.

I believed he was in my spare room, waiting to pounce on me and rip my chest out if I made one wrong move. So I went to the living room and sent out an e-mail SOS to four people I knew, Doug and Father Lindsay included: Help! The devil's in my apartment and wants to kill me. And I stayed up all night and waited him out.

The pain in my legs was awesome. I needed to sleep. I dared not sleep. Because Satan would kill me the minute I went to bed.

The fear subsided enough by morning to let me sleep but not totally. I went to a church group meeting with the SOS I wrote last night and at the end of the meeting. Said:

"Someone broke down here two weeks ago." I tossed the letter on the table "Here's my way of breaking down. Read it."

And at that point, I tried to make a run for the church bathroom, but a friend was there who knew my tendancies. She got up to stop me. Came over and took me in her arms and had me hold her. "Let it out." she told me. It felt good to be held.

I couldn't make a sound.

Then she had me go to the bathroom while the letter was read. Afterwards, they prayed for me.

I have a small arsenal of blessed itemsrayers, a scapular, holy water. Every door in this apartment has been splashed with holy water.

I still feel severely oppressed by this menace. By all the laws of Faith, I am safe, and yet my mind screams "Danger!"

WHAT'S WRONG!!!!

Awww that is so horrible!

But asyou yourself said, the Devil cannot be in your apartment since the doorways have been touched with Holy Water...

Maybe you could get one of your friends to move in for a couple of days until you feel safe again? Or maybe you can move into a friend's house for a few days?

I know just how long such fears last and I do think you need extra support right now. I'm so glad the members of your church like you and help you so much.

Have you tried praying through your house, demanding by the blood of Jesus and your position as His(Ro 8:15-17) that Satan leave? When I came home after a year away I felt oppression in my house, so I claimed my authority as a child of God and prayed through my house in that way. Haven't felt that feeling of spiritual oppression here, since. Satan can't stand such things, and you can pretty much be sure he'll object by trying to scare you, but he can't stand against a child of God, redeemed by the sacrificial blood of Christ, who rebukes Satan by Christ's Name.
Can't tell you I'm very strong in my faith, and would have a difficult time if I were facing oppression right now. But I'll pray for you.
I think it's great you were able to share that letter.

Michelle - It's so amazing that you were able to speak those words out loud to your group at church and share your letter with them. And you even got a hug! I'm glad for that. That seems to be a very big step forward for you.

Out of such pain, it seems forward motion came?

Michelle,

The devil can have no power over you that you do not grant him. That doesn't mean that he isn't going to try. Making people feel afraid, even that they feel they will die, when they want to pray is one of his favorite tricks, but pray with all of your heart. He can't stop you and he can't have power over you. He is only a being of spirit, denied the right to ever have a physical body. You are spirit plus physical body. He can't do anything if you refuse to fear him. Prayer is your best defense, and he knows it, and may try to stop you, but you can overcome him. What's more, God will not leave you unprotected when you ask for His help.
This I promise.

I couldn't read my own letter. Someone had to read it for me. I didn't do very much at all. I couldn't even cry.

Although I talked about wanting a hug in the SOS.
