Hello everyone. I just wanted to share a quick story.

I've been struggling with depression since I was a teenager. Sometimes it's hard to even force myself out of bed - but yesterday was a wonderful day for me and it reminded me that things CAN and WILL get better if I just keep trying.

So - bit of background. I don't have many friends and so I created an online profile to try to meet new people. Well last night I had my first "blind date" with a very nice and smart woman. I took her to a Roller Derby game and we spent most of the game talking about politics, past relationships, our world travels, etc. And of course I had to explain the basics of Derby to her - but she seemed to really enjoy watching the sport.

I was able to totally be myself. Just relaxed and happy! No depression in sight. We both had a great time, and she said she'd like to hang out again soon. It made me feel wonderful to be able to really connect with another person.

So this is a note of encouragement to everyone who is struggling today.

YOU CAN DO IT! YOU ARE STRONG! THINGS WILL GET BETTER IF YOU JUST KEEP TRYING!

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend.
