Some depressed people can't get out of bed, though my new thing seems to be I can't get off the computer. I doesn't make me that happy, I want to do something more but can't get myself to. My doctor upped my anti-depressant about two weeks ago but I'm not seeing much improvement.

Hey Butterfly

Depression can cause something that has a whole spectrum to it, a big network of things that are considered the same phenomena. It can make you unable to attend to anything ever, but all you can do is go to your comfort zone and get stuck there. It's no one's fault, it's depression and its effect on the individual
I myself do both, I'm always in bed, and I always check on things with my computer, and most of the time there isn't anything to see, but I always seem to be searching for something that I can't find and actually never did find, hence the idea of no pleasure coming from that.

I do think that upping the dose was not a flawless idea on your doctor's behalf, because meds can be toxic and their side effects can get more severe causing the patient to feel worse. The idea of not seeing any difference alone can make someone feel worse, and I can only imagine how hard it was on you

I think all depressed people need someone who listens, understands, and isn't critical, and in my opinion that's the best thing to happen, and I wish more people are aware of that.

Hope everything goes well for you!
Thanks for this!

Thank you! I do have a therapist, but I had a fight with her so I'm feeling more alone.

I'm there with you pretty much. At least I can close down people I don't "like" on the computer..
And despite some things I've said I'm still mostly a tolerant little bear so this doesn't often happen..
Having a bath etc is not a fun thing with some crap I have... So it's possible to communicate on the computer, and so possibly not completely alone

It was how it started for me. Being in the computer all day, bored about what I was doing.

i think there isnt much wrong with using the computer alot... but if you are like me and you end up sitting staring at the screen for 10 hours or so that probably isnt healthy... because you arent eating for 1, losing sleep, looking at these screens flashing colors, all that jazz ya know?

i think somewhere i read that should do 30-60 mins and take 15 minute break ?
i take smoke breaks so i go outside every now and then to smoke a cig...

honestly though i have stayed awake for days and just played computer game, now that i know is not a good thing
