So I went to the psychiatrist because psychologists did not help me.. and she prescribed me Atarax, until I go to a special child psychiatrist/psychologist due (the only one in my city -.-) and get prescribed something that is more for me.. even though as all of my psych's said that my psychology picture thingy was way too big xD
Anyways, before I slept 12 hours and now I sleep.. 14.... I have school... 12:00-18:00 somewhere there... that is 6 hours of school.. and I. need. sleep. I sleep through classes, through breaks, lunch break. I sleep a lot! And I know that Atarax might not be an anti-depressant but it works for it so when will it work?? I want to be productive! And if it wont happen soon what to do to fight the sleepiness? Are energy drinks/ coffee ok? |

Atarax is an antihistamine, meaning it can help calm people down with anxiety but it also....
makes you really sleepy...... it's a known side effect and combated by taking it during bedtime every night instead of during daytime hours. I would go back to the person who prescribed it and ask for an alternative if that drowsiness is impeding with your life. |

I agree, the side effects you had last time and how quickly they wore off then wil be a guide to when/if they will wear off this time. If it will affect your studies for more than a small number of weeks, it may be a good idea to talk to the person who prescribed it.
