WARNING! I am for marijuana being legal and in here I explain detail what happens. I did not have any bad effects but there might be some for other people. If you are not comfortable with someone talking, explaining and being positive about a drug please do not read this. I am not forcing no one to smoke, nor will I ever do. It's your life do as you wish with it.
I was wondering what do you think of that? I started smoking this week just to relax and chill. I know a lot of stoners in my class and having a future with heavier drugs I thought that weed will help me stop them. So the first time.. maybe not the best but I had some effects. One thing is for sure. I died laughing. And it was real laughter as well, something I haven't heard in years. So I decided to do it again yesterday. And it was amazing. I felt so light so happy. All of my anxiety, all of my paranoia and depressive thoughts just disappeared. Because I was having a little psychotic episode before hand that was gone as well. And I put up some weight, cleaned my room, bought food and generally felt helpful and useful. So can weed help with depression? Or is it just something that masks it like self-harm? |

I don't know. There doesn't seem to be a lot of good studies. That should change if the feds do the right thing and take weed off of schedule 1 here in the US. It is insane, meth and cocaine are schedule II and prescribed by doctors. I had a septoplasty to try to cure my headaches and they shot me up with cocaine to constrict my capillaries and this was at a military hospital and ADHD patients can get methamphetamine prescriptions. Yet, a natural plant is banned.
I think self-medicating can be dangerous but I would hesitate to tell someone to stop if it is truly helpful. So I don't know what else to say except to take caution, if it is illegal in your country, it could really ruin your life depending on how draconian the laws are. I am fortunate to live in a US state where weed is 100% legal but even if I wanted to try it, it is taxed so highly(ha!) it is crazy expensive at the weed stores. I have been around people smoking it and just second hand smoke cleared my headache out so I have been tempted. It is 1 AM Pacific Time here, you will probably get much more informed opinions in a few more hours.

As for weed, it's always made me paranoid and anxious. Or just sleepy. Everyone reacts differently to it and I wish I could self-medicate with edibles (I hate smoking) but I'll just have to stick to my big Pharma drugs. Personally, I wonder to what extent weed actually helps. People swear up and down that it's a panacea for all ailments. I can see the benefits to mental health and pain because of the chemical properties, and there have been successes in alleviating seizures, but I think many people just want to get high. And that's ok, too. But I would be very interested to see the research now that the tide is changing on marijuana laws. |

im all for this
![]() i started "self medicating" with marijuana when i was 12/13 years old... which may be young in some peoples eyes, but when you are considering suicide i think its not such a bad thing.. this stuff saved my life in my eyes and as much as i hate to argue i will argue a few minutes with anyone about it.. with any type of substance people can experience "paradoxical" effects.. so the effect one person feels may not be the same as anothers experience.. one thing i can say is that the potency is important... if your levels are low in the blood and you smoke/ingest something really potent you could have those paradoxical effects... some people experience depersonalization and or derealization... some people experience anxiety and panic... these things have to be acknowledged and shouldnt be ignored just to justify the legalization... proper studies should be done to examine why these paradoxical effects happen to some people and why such a greatly more positive experience happens with others... like other medications, maybe its an allergic reaction, maybe the system just isnt able to tolerate the drugs effect such as some peoples experience with other meds... pain killers almost always make me sick even though they help the pain, but does that mean that they are terrible and should be thrown out or not studied? this plant works wonders for some, and with the people that it does work... they have very few if ANY side effects - no one has ever died directly from the effect of marijuana which in my eyes makes it one of the safest options to consider... even though the paradoxical effects can make one THINK they are dieing... this plant can help people with a wide variety of different disorders... the medical application is wide and i think that it deserves proper and honest investigation... not the biased outlooks the world places on it ... in the usa hemp was a plant that farmers were required to grow at one point The Forgotten History of Hemp Cultivation in America the beginning of the alcohol prohibition and drug wars they launched huge campaigns against these things... it was largely a racist bias against mexicans... they claimed that marijuana (marihuana) made people psychotic killers that would rape women and blablabla... watch the classic film "Reefer Madness" if you are interested the history of how marijuana and alcohol became illegal and prohibition started is quite fascinating and makes you question the entire "Drug Wars" they started in the usa... ![]()

I have done this a few times in the last month, the only thing I'll say is if you are on medication, you should check for interactions. There are some forums that talk more in depth about the interactions with certain meds.

I found that it sincerely helped my overbearing thoughts, anxiety, and extreme depression.
I used to smoke when I was younger. It's not legal in my state, not even medically. Seeing as I'm dating a cop, I'm respecting his commitment to the law. Even he says that he doesn't mind if I do because all these pills are doing more harm then smoking. I just can't risk his job or reputation. Why is this still illegal? It grows in the ground naturally! WHY is it that alcohol, cigarettes, and pills kill millions a year but people are worried about a plant that has been used in history as a medicinal solution? I can still remember how peaceful I felt, how well I slept, how eating wasn't a chore, and how I enjoyed the little things like watching birds flying around outside. Hanging onto this twisted thought that is a "Drug" so it's bad, don't they realize the pharmaceutical companies sell billions... Trillions of pills each year that are "Drugs" too. It just seems so silly that you could take a tobacco plant and smoke it but not a marijuana plant? I'm NOT saying marijuana won't come with risks but just like everything else in life, why can't we choose for ourselves. Joe wants to drink until he dies of cirrhosis of the liver, Sally has lung cancer from smoking 2 packs of cigs a day, Robert died of an overdose of prescription pills, so if those are allowed... Why not an herb that has grown in the ground for who knows how long?!? Sent from S6 Edge using Tapatalk.
