I feel nothing. Like death in a living breathing body.

There is no sadness, no tears, no loneliness, no desperation, no worthlessness.....nothing

But there is also no love, no hope, no compassion.....I feel nothing.

No emotions, no feelings.....just emptiness

Maybe this is death......the end of nothingness

(((hugs)))

No, not death of the physical body.

Numbing is something you're doing to help you cope. Maybe you have been dredging up too many memories or problems lately, and you need to distance yourself from all that for a bit.

Go with it, safely. Don't fear it. Try to keep yourself involved, even if you just feel like you're gong through the motions.

Take care, ((((( keb6137 ))))))

I often fall into the numbness, usually after or before a severe episode, and yeah i think its just some way we attempt to cope i guess. I hate the feeling as I cant express myself in any way, or do any artwork, or tell whether I like the way something looks or not... I don't feel like doing anything, as nothing makes me happy, sad or feel... It get worse if I'm not careful but I'm starting to feel uncomfortable explaining more on where I could go.

Seems to always coincide with my depression becoming more severe. I think of it like purgatory or limbo, though i shouldn't.

I relax, take medication, try to sleep and hope it passes. Sometimes I just force myself to do something, even though I don't feel like doing anything, and I can snap myself out of it. Other times nothing works...

I hope you are able to "feel" something soon, and I hope its something good. I am familiar with this. Every now and then I feel numb and feel as though I can feel nothing. Its not fun. You feel like your not even here on this earth. You feel like your looking out at the world through a glass window instead of your eyes..its so strange. you feel fake and unreal. I know it sux. I'm always here to talk. hope it gets better really soon. take care!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts

Whitt & ally88 thanks for sharing. This shell of a person that I am can't find emotion but knowing others have experienced these "non-feelings" is helpful.

I go about daily life like a robot....take shower, brush teeth, make breakfast, make bed, do laundry. I just do it, no thoughts or feelings involved. I could just as easily not do any of those things and wouldn't care either way.

Just nothing.

I know that feeling well, what I call, 'Robot-mode.' Sometimes that's all we can do to try to cope.

'Nothing' is also what I was told as a child, "You are nothing!"................Nothing, nothing, nothing, that's very yuck.

Try and do something nice just for yourself.

Please know that we care for you.(((((((((((( keb ))))))))))))
