I've taken it several times over the last couple years. The scores ranged from 70 to 80. Depression affects my life to a great deal. I'm still functional and I'm able to maintain relationships/friendships, job etc but it is a lot of suffering at the same time.
The test is just a number. The higher the number the more it is probably impacting your life. Doctors can give you an accurate diagnosis if they know enough about you and try to understand.

I took one at Psych Central. Somehow I missed the number. It did say that I have "Severe Depression". I personally don't think it's that high for me. Some of the questions were hard to pin-point an answer to for me.

I think it is hard also cause not everyone's depression will happen the same way and so some of the questions may not apply to certain people but those people may have other issues related to depression.

Yah, it really is just a number. Or, with the sanity score it's a red bar or a blue bar.
![]() The problem with tests is that they may not describe what you are feeling using language you really relate to. And your symptoms might not manifest in exactly the way they describe them on the test. Also, tests can be too narrowly focused and miss symptoms you are experiencing. --Ceara1010
