I have phased into what I call "lowpointing" which is basically my depressive mode full blown. Some have noticed that I have been either absent from chat or isolating myself to a private room with just a few folks in with me. When I go into lowpointing mode, I have a strong urge to hermit and tend to get extremely overwhelmed when too much is going on around me (chat included).

I just wanted to make it clear that I am not trying to offend anyone or make them feel like they are unwanted. This is certainly not the case and I am sorry if I made anyone feel this way.

Hey Queen -

I understand hitting that lowpoint. Sometimes it just comes and hits you hart. Take care of yourself first, that is the main thing. Post if you need to. Take care

Thank you for all the hugs and understanding, everyone. I truly needed that. Lowpointing

I'm still coasting on the lowpoint, but it does help to know that folks out there know what I am going through and are expressing care.

*hugs to everyone*

It is now the 21st of July and the lowpointing is still heading downward. I've been trying to get motivated to get things done and simply don't have the energy.

Hopefully, I can gather up the energy to get to my therapist appointment in three days. I'm not sure what he could do for me when I'm like this other than remind me that it will phase out.

I hate lowpointing. All I want to do is hide until this is over.

Hi! I found your use of and explanation of the term "lowpointing" very useful. That's what I'm doing right now and it helps to have this way of thinking about it (and, I hope, putting it in its place). Thank you for your input.

Flips,

I figured that such a term was a very good description of how I feel during those times. Having a name for the different phases we go through can sometimes help to sum up for ourselves as well as those around us. I often like to "name the demons" so to speak in order to better face them, if that makes any sense.
