Lately I've been feeling sad at times where I feel like I am tearing up and it hurts. Why does it happen? I just feel emotional for no reason at times. I don't really show it though I think. Been happening more the past few days and I feel complicated feelings because of it. I do everything to get better but it just happens I suppose.

Hello,

I've experienced this during major depression- I also have experienced a spontaneous flood of tears out of nowhere and I don't even know why. I think our bodies need to express some emotions, sometimes, and it is a physiological response.

I think that it is more painful for you because you are fighting it. It's ok to cry. Give yourself permission to cry and the feelings that accompany them. After you stop crying, you may be surprised that you feel better by not fighting it.

I feel ashamed to cry but that is usually brainwashed into most men that you're supposed to be ashamed of that. Not sure what I am sad about but it definitely hurts. If anything it usually happens when I get caught up in the my delusional fantasy that I am hated by everyone and others want me dead. I guess I get a delusional sense of being an outcast to society though i'm probably not but delusion-ally speaking I feel that way and I can't help it even though I know it's not true.
