Well here I am having a little bit of post vacation blues. We went to a beach resort about 2 hours from my home, not too far away. I actually enjoyed most of my vacation but this is the first time I have ever gone away for vacation and was really glad to come back home.

For starters I could not bring my dog so I had to get dog sitters. I worried about my 13 year old dog who did miss us. Then the beach at this resort was a disappointment. The water was filthy dirty. We live a little ways up the coast and there is a beach at my hometown. The beach at my hometown is much prettier and the water is much cleaner. Then my husband wanted to go on a long nature hike. It is just too hot in our area to go on a long nature hike in mid-July. Ninety-four degrees is not what I call hiking weather. I agreed to go on the hike but thought I would suffer heat stroke before it was over.

On the good side we got to see some fun historic sites and we went to a real fun waterpark.

I guess I am tired and having a little bit of post-holiday blues. I was glad to get home and see my dog. I was glad to get back to my creature comforts of home.

Getting home again is sometimes the best part of having a holiday! Strange huh!

I'm sorry to hear that your vacation was a disappointment. Oh, and welcome back on here. It seems like it's been a while since you were here.

I've had vacations that were disappointments, too. But I have not been on a real vacation (like going away somewhere) in quite a few years. I'd like to go on one but I can't afford it. I feel thankful that I live in a place that's nice to get back to when I've been away.

I bet your dog was pleased to have you home too. Sometimes the mind plays odd tricks on us making us feel the opposite to how we think we should feel.

I understand your feelings because I am suffering a bad case of buyers remorse at the moment after buying a new car. I can afford the car, my old car is getting old and in the next year will need some expensive maintenance, I've never had a brand new car before (This car has been pre-registered so technically I am the second owner, but the car has 2 miles on the clock). I should be excited but still I'm wondering whether to cancel (there is a 4 day cooling off period).

Sometimes we just need the reassurance of the familiar.

Good luck with the new car. I also have never owned a brand new car. I always buy them slightly used. My car has over 100,000 miles on it now so it has had some wear and tear.

Buying a car is a big thing. But sometimes it is the best thing to do if the repairs on an old car become too major.

I am feeling a little better today having had some rest. Usually when we go on vacation we go to the mountains and I never want to come home from the mountains. This time we did something different. I got bitten by red bugs and I think it happened when we went hiking in the woods. The bug bites itch but that will go away in time. I feel like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. There's no place like home.
