I can't deal with being me. I hate myself, I really truly do. I hate that I'm selfish. I honestly have no idea what my friends see in me. Every time I'm with them I'm thinking how much better off they'd be if they didn't know me

You're a good person. It's just that you don't have an objective view of yourself. You're having a bad moment... but it will pass.

And besides.. if you have friends, it must mean that there's at least some redeeming quality in you, right?

Vanishingacts, I have to agree with MickeyC, The fact you have friends suggests that they se more in you than you clearly do. Stick with it - you are clearly doing something right.

My best friend, someone I love a lot, even said I was depressing to be around. He didn't mean to hurt me, but he's not the only one. Every single person I've ever been close to has said that at some stage.

I'm really sorry, vanishing but it's not your fault, it's just how depression/mental illness works. Do your friends know about what you're going through? Have you told them?

Either way, remember that it's not your fault if you're feeling like this

He does know. The rest of my friends and my parents don't though. Now I look at everyone around me and wonder if they think I'm depressing too. Its killing me
