Mental health workers in the uk... They speak as if talking to a 4 year old child. Do you think they play dumb? Is this their way of showing they completely do not care

Limited vocabulary

Good questions. Clinical workers - I hope - receive instruction in meeting patients and discovering how they may assist them. Do all receive the same instruction? Does it vary from school to school or bureaucracy to bureaucracy?

I've had a couple folks talk down to me, but they were in the minority. Of course, even the most professional and personable clinicians have not necessarily been able to help much.

Hang in there, friend. Maybe try thinking about it like with every appointment, you are educating them farther and helping them gain more experience so that they can better help the next person. That's what I have to tell myself sometimes..
