Think it's my depression but my memory is not what it once was. I don't seem to be able to absorb any new information. I was never the brightest lightbulb in the chandelier but it seems like it has got worse over the past year or so. Affects work and home life. Can anyone relate?

Oh yes, absolutely. In my case, since I'm an older person, I think it's probably a mixture of long term depression & anxiety mixed with the normal effects of aging. But nowadays it seems like everything just goes in one ear & out the other, as the saying goes...

Yeah, depression doesn't make you think clearly.. so it probably has a part in this. I'm sorry

Yes, sadly. Cognitive impairment is common in depression.

I hope things get better for you.

Something funny: I normally open a thread in a new tab and when I went to close this one I closed the whole window...age+depression=??? lol

At the worst it sometimes now only takes an hour or two in the morning before my brain overloads and shutdown begins, but this morning I saw that coming quickly enough to shut everything down around me and take a nap. I think my cognitive function is still fine for the duration, but then many times I can barely function at all while "brain tired" and until the day after some good sleep.

Unfortunately yes! I used to have a really good memory but it has gotten worse. I hope things get better for you soon.
