I remember talking to this person once. I was talking about something really personal with her, we both were. Eventually we lightened the conversation up a bit and joked around. I don't know what happened but after we laughed and quited for a bit, a tear -- just a single tear -- slid down my cheek. I wiped it and stared at the floor thinking about the memories and feelings I had been confronting. She got my attention and she didn't do the whole "Are you okay? What's wrong?" routine. She looked at me straight in the eye and just said, "You're really broken aren't you?" Well, that got my attention and I just shrugged. "You got the same look as me. You'll tell me what happened when you're ready."
I guess, I'm writing this just thinking about this friend of mine. After all, like she predicted, she was the first person I told about the things that happened. The only person I told who understood and accepted me anyway without a blink of an eye. She was a good friend. I miss her.
