the countdown to spring/ summer
my worst 2 seasons of the year (spring's not so bad, but summer, ugg!) I am depressed all ready and it's not even the end of the winter I often wonder if seasonal affective disorder sometimes affects people in the summer, because ugg. I always feel so much worse or maybe it's just because of my agoraphobia. who really knows |

For decades I found summer worst. It is changing now, last summer was a little less intense. It surprised me!
I doubt this comment is much help but comes with heartfelt wishes that something changes for you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I love snow and for the first winter ever I live somewhere it snows every year. Now the snow is melting and I am sad about it too. Something about winter just makes me feel warm and cozy. But I try to remember there are good things about all the seasons. But I definitely hate being hot so summer is not my favorite. Good luck

I hate summer too, my tollerance to heat is very low.

Our mood are often affected by different stimulators. The season is one of them, the heat may cause us to be easily agitated and may perhaps triggered depression under different circumstances.

Winter and summer are my worst. So now it's bad.

I understand. Summer used to be very difficult for me. Winter was my season; I felt much better. Oddly, things changed. For the past few years winter has become more depressing (in general) than summer is. I never dreamed it could happen.

In answer to your question yes there are 2 different SAD'S , they are saying in the latest research that all people who have SAD are also experiencing the opposite of the mood cycle the other months of the year (usually it does not rise to the level of hypo mania or mania but it can) there latest thoughts on SAD is you have to treat the entire mood cycle in order to combat the lows ( me being a skeptic and knowing far you much about big pharma bull crap, it sounds like a great way to sell people expensive medication by keeping them engaged in some kind of expensive doctor patient relationship , it's the gravy train for doctors and pharma companies reps ) there are a gizzilion bad drugs out there , that have either proved they are outright dangerous or have real potential and have not been around long enough yet to be shown in any kind of real negative light , the three worst groups of people are use car salesmen , auctioneers and drug company reps, 2 years ago they put the "sunshine act" in effect but that went nowhere near far enough in reining in big pharma, I apologize to anyone who is on medication and loves it and it has changed your life , as for me and my family and friends if there's a real nasty bizarre rare side effect , we get it , take for example "statins" for cholesterol , I tried them and was one of the first people to almost die from a then unusual and rare side effect, that now is seen frequently and recognized as statin intolerant, I have one rare muscle disease and one incredibly rare muscle disease (currently the only person on earth that has it )so to get a third one from a drug was really unwelcome, anyway it is very possible to have a reverse season SAD , bright photon therapy (light has been shown effective in many, and before you ask there is much more science and testing as well as successfull treatment with white light then the lower power blue light )and those with reverse SAD are advised to always wear dark glasses, and hats and stay out of the light during peak hours for the sun. Sorry to prattle on .

I hate summer because I don't like the heat. Winter is easier because my agoraphobia is less apparent because I have the excuse of snow, bad roads, and such.

I am personally affected by seasonal changes, they tend to make me feel depressed. Summer is just unbearable here, but we manage. I hope the easter eggs will ease on the upcoming change for you. |

Summer's always been my worst season. It's hot, buggy, humid, and there's nothing to do when you're jobless and almost friendless, so that leaves me with my thoughts, which is bad.
