Im currently not working. I use to have a passion for life and a passion for my job. But i lost the passion and Im not working because It doesn't feel right and I start getting depressed when i work. My doctor says its anhedonia. I do enjoy going out with friends. I do find pleasure in some things that I do. But i dont have my passion for work, I don't enjoy life anymore. Could that still be anhedonia?

Hi, I don't enjoy working either anymore. But this could be related to so many things. In my case part of it is that I have these thoughts that whatever I do is not good enough, parts of it is my huge anxiety from any stimulation lately. Also I just have no motivation to do anything for long time and no patience. Also I'd like to be useful or do something useful and I feel that I can't. Also I hate the idea of just working for survival in a self-replicating system where jobs are created to make money and not to actually make the world a better place...
So....there could be a lot of aspects of this. Some would say these are all signs of depression. But maybe depression is the result of these realisations, and the realisation that our needs and ideals don't seemto fit in the box we have been socialised into.. |

Sounds like it from what your doctor said. I'm glad you can still enjoy some things.
