I'm discouraged because I changed meds recently to get out of a depression. They seemed to work at first, but now I'm sliding into the pit again.
Is there ever a time when you're not depressed? Do I still need to tweak the meds, or should I just accept that I'll always be depressed? I think there are some things that meds can't solve. I am going to a therapist. |

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. It sounds like you need to get a medication tweak with your pdoc. You don't have to live with depression. I hope you start feeling better soon. Best wishes

Yes, there are definitely times when I'm not depressed, although I feel like I have a lower "baseline mood" than the "normal" population. Meaning that my normal may not be someone else's normal.
It sounds like maybe another med tweaking is in order. What other things are you doing to tackle the depression aside from medication? I am glad that you mentioned going to therapy because you're right - meds can't solve everything but they can really help sometimes. I take an anti-depressant but would venture to say that having a part-time job and exercising regularly are doing more for my mental well-being than the pills I take. |

I walk every day and journal. Those are the two ways I stay sane.
I agree, the meds need to be tweaked. Quote:
