Maybe crying is for people who rarely feel bad.

Can you expand on that?

I am deeply depressed and am going through a very difficult time in addition to the depression
I cry constantly.

Dont take it too seriously, I said maybe. We are all different. Last time I cried was years ago and it was not about me, my grandma died. One of the rare positive persons from my childhood. At least as they appeared to me.

Thanks
I meant dont take seriously what I said about crying. I was not trying to minimize anything. Have in mind that Im also isolated and have no experience with other depressed people. I was just guessing from the first two replies. Peace.

I'm sorry I think there was a misunderstanding... I understand what you mean about wanting to end it, I really do

I very rarely cry. I'm more likely to cry if I've been drinking but even then it hardly ever happens. I'm quite shut off from my emotions.

I hope you are ok...do you want to talk about whats going on?

I think we all cry in one way or another, just expressing it through different means. If a normal person entered my room (restricted area) they would see someone with serious cry for help. Art in every possible form is my release.

Hi sophiesmom

I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time
It sounds like everything must feel so overwhelming to you??

I've got to say please think about going to your doctor and/or phoning a helpline, and that's not in a "passing the buck" kind of way, but because I really care

But we're still here for you........obviously there's only so much we can say to help when things are real bad.........but if you want someone to listen, to understand (as much as anyone can!!), to stick by and with you, to offer you suggestions if you want/need them, to care, to..........we're/I'm here...........so if/when you're ready just let it out if you can.........it has been better, so that's not to say it can't be better again........it may not be at all easy but hold onto that, hey?!

I cried like that when I am desperate or mourning, how can we help you, Sophie's mom?

I remember when I was in graduate school, I was crying in the bus in my way home after 10 pm . I was sooo depressed. I still cry when I feel down, but I don't think I would cry in public for no apparent reason. I think I'm very sensitive, and anything can make me cry. For example, when I was going to the movies, I cried several times on emotional scenes, even when I wasn't depressed. Luckily the lights are off when the movies are playing, and I hope no one saw me. But yes, I think depression can make us cry more than when we are not. I think crying is a way of coping, at least for me. If I don't cry when I feel depressed and frustrated, I may explode or breakdown. I'm sorry you are going through hard times

I'm a crier.
I think it's more of a biological quirk than a willful one, honestly.

I'll cry if someone raises their voice to me, I'll cry during an anxiety attack, I'll cry during a panic attack, or a sad song, or a sad part of a movie, or a tv show. Books have made me sob.

I hope this post didn't make you feel more isolated because you're not alone in crying all the time.

Please take care.

I didn't cry from the deaths of close family members (my father being one when I was 12), but I have cried a river, nearly daily from my frustrating, bad marriage.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain.

I'm trying to get myself out of my unfixable, miserable relationship, hoping to be happier.

Is there anything you can do to help yourself be happier? Is it your situation or a biological depression?

What do you do when you can't stop crying long enough to speak to a doctor?

Write everything down and get them to read it?

I've cried gallons of tears just over the last year.

Talk through the tears. They'll hand you a tissue and sit stone faced. I guess they're used to seeing patients cry.

Just today, I had to tell my rheumatologist how my body has broken down because of my stress and emotions. He knows it's been the same problems for years, as he's been my doctor.

He said "Can't you get out of this?" I told him I'm trying.

Be your own advocate, Sophiesmom! Be strong for yourself.

Maybe try expressing more; perhaps in PMs? I used to be able to say more about things to people I am comfortable talking to hear. Crying that much sounds unbearable. I tear up sometimes but I only have cried once since my attempt. It was miserable. Fortunately everyone at home was asleep. Probably six hours of it. I talked to God like never before. Truly morned my idiotic attempt--felt like it released some stuff and helped me. Of course, then new revelations come along. What a stupid long process we go through mourning all our mistakes and weakness, and gullibility. I hope you can figure out how to stop it. PM me anytime! Just start writing about anything troubling freely. Experiment. Keep trying. I am sorry you have to endure this!!!

I cry sometimes when I'm really depressed or just when I'm sad.
