I was diagnosed with Dysthymia 20 years ago with a likelihood of having it since my early childhood.
Had ECT at the age of 21 but did not start antidepressants till I was 45, and ever since then I’ve been struggling for emotionally stability.
I was born a sensitive soul and struggle to be around people for long.
Although my wife and daughter are lovely loving souls, relationships make me anxious and moody. I’m constantly feeling frustrated, bored, lazy and p@$$ed off!
When I feel the funk coming on it always emanates from my gut and grips me like a pitbull in the solar plexus.
So, I’m wondering, is all this boredom, laziness and lack of passion all part of Dysthymia or is it a gut issue?
Hugs from:
Fuzzybear, Shazerac

Hello. Welcome to PC. I can relate to much of what you've said and this sounds like signs of the dysthymia to me.

Hi Tryhard, In my experience that feeling in the solar plexus is depression.

Thank you Jennifer, Fuzzybear and Laurie, I was hoping it was a Leaky Gut symptom. I'm spending heaps at a Naturopath!
Blessings to you all.

After all is said and done, my only battles are my private battles between Me, Myself and I!All I can do is pray for is strength and wisdom to get through each day without fighting with the neighbour or road raging, also feeling for others in this sad world who are struggling on a cocktail of medication, when all I take is a very low dose of Paxil and Mirtazapine. Please be brave and gentle on yourselves.
