I have been treated for many years for depression with good results. I take Cymbalta, Lexapro, and Trazadone. This cocktail found after a long time of trying other meds.
I live in near Boston. In the fall I experience worse depression (SAD, Seasonal Acquired Depression). This year it is almost totally incapacitating.
I am wondering if you have had similar experience, if so, what have you changed or added to your cocktail ?? Or, what med do you think I should ask my doctor to prescribe in addition to what I'm taking?
Thanks so much,
Hugs from:

I deal with this too, and the only thing added to my med combo has been a high dose of vitamin D. You live fairly far North, like I do. Have you had your D levels checked? I was also told to buy a bright sun lamp. These things have helped to some degree, I think. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have another conversation with your doctor about the fact that your SAD this year is worse than it's been.

Hoping you get some solutions soon.

I do suffer from SAD. It usually starts between November -February and lasts through April. My pdoc has me on vitamin D, omega fish oil, NAC and bright spectrum lighting including a sun box, and exercise everyday. These things help. Sending big hugs.
