I'm not doing well. I've had a hard last two days. My birthday is Monday and everyone wants to know what I want for my birthday but the truth is that I don't know. I guess I'm in one of those moods where I'm forgotten and treated like crap every other day so why should I be treated differently on my bday. I know...i''m in a mood right now. I just get frustrated that I get treated like crap every other day and yet everyone changes on my bday for 3 or 4 hours.

Happy almost birthday; mine's in a couple weeks :-)

Make it easy on yourself and tell them to surprise you with a gift card of some sort. One can get several different ones in drugstores even nowadays and it would probably be fun to get 4-5 different $5-$10 cards to Starbucks, bookstores, various restaurants, drugstores, Home Depot, not well.... etc.

((Maymie))
I go through the same..I tell them material things only make you happy for a short time, but still leaves me feeling empty on the inside.. That is how I feel, any how. Don't just be nice and thoughtful on my b-day, be that all the time if you want to give me something. In other words, save your money.
Hope you have a wonderful Birthday
Wishing you a great year ahead. not well....

Hppy Birthday Maymie not well.... not well.... not well....

I appreciate your point of view... in my family we all get together only one day of the year... Christmas.. its my brothers birthday...

on the other hand, no one remembers anyone's birthday... we're all stressed paying bills and all kinds of excuses cover up the fact that we simply can't afford gifts...

my mom, in one of her more "on" moments says that holidays etc... are not about gifts...

on this i have to agree with her... inside i tell myself i love them everyday, why isn't that good enough?

as a side... i've started listening to Christmas music with my mom (alone of course) in summer... how different the music sounds in 95 degrees... really uplifting if its given the chance...

treat yourself to something... you are special...
