So for the past few days, I have just spent hours staring at a wall or into space and thinking about either nothing or about how sad everything is. It just feels like it's been 5 minutes when it's actually been an hour. Everything seems slowed down, even though I know that isn't the case. Has anyone else experienced this sense of time being stopped or slowed down?

Can't say I've felt time slow down like that, but I've stared off into space thinking sad thoughts. I do hope time slows down each weekend, but it never does and Monday is here before you know it. Hope you feel better.

I've never experienced this myself, but something along the lines of "does everything feel slowed down?" gets asked a lot in depression questionnaires.

I wish it did for me. When I’m depressed, time seems to go faster as I realize everything I’m not getting done. It also speeds up when I tell myself that no matter what I’ll get started in an hour.

I think you are experiencing another facet of depression.

It's been a problem for me off and on for the majority of my adult life. Would anything help speed it back up, like writing or watching tv? Even if you don't feel like it, it could help.

Yeah. Time feels really weird when I'm super depressed. Either I space out for a long time and it passes so quickly I don't realise it, or a minute feels like an hour or more. What helps may be trying to ground yourself back in reality. What with stepping outdoors, or watching something.

I do watch TV to help, but I've been told that I'm procrastinating and not helping, as it tend to do it so much. That's all I did last night because I felt so bad last night and just watched TV from 8pm-3am. It did help me stopping from thinking.
