I always feel like I’m an outsider. Always have done.

I am done with this feeling. I’m sick of feeling like a nobody. I am a nobody, and I can’t ****ing handle it.

I just wish for once that people cared. I’m sick to death of being invisible. Of not belonging.

It just hurts.

Yes, I have pretty-much always felt like an outsider too although it is true that, in my case, I probably made myself an outsider as much as other people made me feel like one. I've never really gotten along with people for the most part in real life. Nowadays I just keep to myself. So it's no longer an issue for me. But then I'm old. So being a recluse works.

I'm sorry you are feeling like an outsider. As Teddy Bear rightly observed though, you're not an outsider here, which is I suppose why a lot of us are here on PC. Because here... none of us are outsiders. I wish you well...

I don’t know if it helps to hear this, but I thought I would say it in case it does. Everyone - and I mean everyone - feels invisible from time to time (Sometimes a lot of the time.) I’ve definitely felt it too.

I find it helps to not rely on others for validation. If YOU feel like you’re important and worthy, then it matters less if others treat you like you’re invisible. Outsider. Because you KNOW that you matter.

Maybe it would help to work on some self esteem building exercises for yourself?

I have felt like an outsider for all of my life, too. Not a nice feeling. I especially have felt that way when I go to churches and at where I live. It seems like the people are very paired up or in groups in those two places; and don't have room for me. At work I don't feel that way. I feel like I belong more at work. But I can't open up too much to the others with my life. It's mostly just small talk. I have to be careful not to be a downer at work.

As I've gotten older, it does not bother me as much. I thought it would. But still I hate feeling like an outsider. I'm introverted so I don't need a lot of people in my life. Having two to four good friends is enough for me. If I only have just one close friend (which is what it's like for me now), then it's OK for me.

I feel like an outsider most of the time....it’s just something that I’ve had to get used to.
