I will never forget the harsh and cruel lessons in my life (I wish I could )

But in some way, some of them have made me a better person.

More compassionate, more forgiving (to most people), more understanding...

I have broken the cycle of abuse that was in the family I grew up in.

I have broken away from abusive “healthcare professionals”.

Love is always stronger than hate (and indifference)

I feel you are an amazing, loving, compassionate person!

It's a miracle, really, that we can overcome some of life's adversities and can transform ourselves from simply "hurt" or "injured" into loving Beings.

While you may never forget, you've shown incredible strength and determination to not let the wrong influences/experiences to rule/ruin your life.

I am so glad you are here at PC. I am also glad our paths have crossed!
Thanks for being you!

Breaking the cycle of abuse is empowering. I see how that can help to redefine what it means to never forget.

Forgetting, from my experience, isn't the best way to cope either. I forget a lot but the damages are still there.
My hope is to see things as they are, in perspective, making mends with my past self. Having a broader perspective, I was hoping. What I was and what I have been through is not who I need to be in the future. The way people behave around the world is not the same as the family I live in. And I can and must love my twisted mentally ill family...after I love myself and know what is my place in the world.
